The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team, where collaboration and innovations thrive in a supportive office environment with enthusiastic and dedicated staff. The role involves creating content such as press releases, fact sheets, media kits, and videos, ensuring alignment with the Law Society's local operational plan and broader organisational strategy. Additionally, you will assist and support Welsh-specific campaigns, develop social media and website activities, and ensure consistent messaging.

You will liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, managing media requests, and building relationships with the Welsh press and key journalists to enhance visibility and maintain a positive image of the Law Society's work in Wales.

This is an exciting and varied role requiring a flexible, proactive approach and excellent organisational skills, where your expertise and knowledge will be crucial and used in promoting the Law Society's presence in Wales by developing and executing effective communication strategies.

What we're looking for

You will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the workings of The Senedd and Welsh Government, which is crucial for developing effective communication strategies that align with the political context in Wales.

You will be experienced in building strong relationships with the Welsh press and key journalists, ensuring that the Law Society's work is well-represented and visible in the media.

You will have the ability to write clear and high-quality content, including news announcements, press releases, and website copy, to effectively communicate the Law Society's initiatives and updates. Additionally, you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey complex issues in both Welsh and English.

Your proactive and constructive approach to workplace challenges, combined with excellent organisational skills, will allow you to deliver high-quality work.

You will also be experienced in building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels and be able to work both pro-actively and reactively, often with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines.

What's in it for you

This is an excellent opportunity to work with contemporary thinkers in a progressive membership organisation. The successful candidate will join a strong brand with a reputation for excellence and legal expertise, committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and a culture of trust, clarity, excellence and respect.

We offer hybrid working (minimum 2 days a week working on site), a generous flexible benefits package, a friendly working environment and the opportunity to develop your career within a professional organisation.

Please note: if you are an internal applicant, Pay Policy will apply.
